Trump will visit Mexico City in September, his transition team said Tuesday, the first major foreign trip he will make as president.
Trump will also travel to the United States for a summit of the Group of 20 nations in Hamburg, Germany, and to Europe.
Trump and Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto will be joined by other world leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel, to discuss a possible agreement to reopen the U.S.-Mexico border and tackle the opioid crisis, the transition team confirmed.
Trump has been critical of the deal and called the U-S.
trade deal the “worst ever” during his campaign.
Pena Nieto has called the Trump administration’s decision to reopen borders to undocumented migrants a “dangerous and immoral decision.”
